6 Fully Styled Shoots

This retreat is an invitation to slow your pace and work within a landscape that naturally pulls you into the moment. Your time will be spent creating and exploring in ways that feel intuitive and closely connected to how you photograph in real life.

Shooting takes place throughout Joshua Tree, where vast desert views, sculptural boulders, and golden light shape the experience. The focus is on responding to the environment as it shifts—working with movement, shadow, and light as they unfold, and allowing the story to guide the images rather than forcing them.

Throughout each shoot, guidance is offered in a way that feels steady and supportive. There is space to try new approaches, ask questions in the moment, and build confidence through hands-on practice. We pay close attention to how the desert landscape and changing light influence the work, learning how to create images that feel intentional without feeling overworked.

The retreat includes carefully selected desert lodging and shared time that encourages connection, collaboration, and conversation. Everything is paced with intention so the experience feels grounded, inspiring, and unhurried.

By the end, you’ll leave with work that reflects your time in the desert, a stronger understanding of how to approach photographing in Joshua Tree, and insight you can carry forward into future destination work. 🌵

SO, WHATS INCLUDED?

You won’t be stepping into this experience without preparation. Before the retreat begins, you’ll receive a detailed guide to the Joshua Tree area with everything you need to feel confident and ready.

From locations and logistics to timing, terrain, and desert conditions, you’ll have the context and insight needed to focus on creating rather than trying to figure things out in the moment.

You will be added to a private group with the other photographers attending the retreat. Many people come solo, so this space makes it easy to connect ahead of time, ask questions, coordinate travel, and share plans if you want to carpool or room together.

You’ll walk away with full galleries that feel lived in and authentic. Work that shows what it truly looks like to photograph couples in the desert—not just highlights, but complete stories that future clients can easily imagine themselves stepping into.

We keep this small on purpose. No crowding. No rushing for a turn. Just room to work, observe, and create with intention.
You will photograph alongside a close group of artists who feel more like collaborators than competitors. The pace is calm, the environment supportive, and the focus is on creating meaningful work while exploring beautiful places together.

5 elopement stories. 1 relaxed session .6 real couples.
